About the Therapist

Alexandra ("Lexi") Franc

Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Marriage & Family Therapy, Northcentral University

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology, Florida State University

Welcome! I’m Lexi, also known as That Therapy Girl. Like everyone else, I experienced common social struggles, including feelings of loneliness, disconnect, and anxiety from unhealthy relationships. This led me first to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

After my Bachelor’s, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for children with autism and other social and behavioral issues, using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). I found that connecting to my clients’ emotional world furthered their progress.

In my personal time, I began learning about marriage, couples, and relationships by watching videos and reading books and articles. This made me questioned why the divorce rate was rising and what impact it would have on our world. This led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a focus on couples counseling.

Mission

Now, in my practice with couples, I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is a derivative of attachment theory. This allows me to unearth negative cycles and to aid each partner in turning them positive. To date, I’ve worked with hundreds of couples, whether they are pre-marital or have been married for decades. In my family practice, I help my clients with co-parenting and with creating new attachments in blended families.

With individual clients, I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Somatic Therapy based in the science of somatic experiencing. I use this method to create balance between the mind and body. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), which I learned through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) early in my career. These methods effectively treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and more, helping my clients reach homeostasis in a secure environment.

All in all, I believe in meeting my clients where they are, whether that’s by offering a safe space to feel seen and heard, exploring their thoughts and feelings with them, or digging into deep issues. I look forward to doing the same with you!
